Northwest Gaspe Peninsula
This morning we visited the prettiest (at least in our opinion) portion of Parc Forillion. Located on the Northwest side of the park, this area has a wonderful little beach and soaring cliffs.
Leaving Parc Forillion behind, we drove down the northwest side of the Gaspe Peninsula, headed for our next destination of Saguenay, reputed to be the prettiest part of Quebec Provence. The drive was much prettier than the other side of the peninsula. It was much less populated, with the first half of the drive up, down and around hills and the second half along the shore of the St. Lawrence.
We arrived at Matane where we will take the ferry in the morning across the St. Lawrence to Baie Comeau.

The lighthouse in the distance is the tallest in Canada.

While driving along the coastline, we encountered not only the traditional “rock sliding” sign, we happened upon the above two also. Pretty strange seeing a road side that warning us we could be swept away by waves. Almost immediately we can on another sign warning us we were in peril of being swamped by an avalanche!
