Passing through the town of Campbell River on our way back down the Island, we stopped off for another short hike through an area of huge pines, neat suspension bridge and the ubiquitous waterfall.
We then trekked to our final beaches. We visited a number of beaches on both the east and west side of the Island but Botanical Beach at Juan de Fuca Provincial Park was definitely our favorite. It was most interesting with birds, beach combing, tidal pools, rocks (some of which have already made their way back to Texas), driftwood, etc.

Not sure what MB is getting ready to do here…maybe going to attack me…I hope, I hope, I hope!

It’s raining, what do you expect In a Rain Forest?

As usual in a rain forest, moss, moss and more moss.

So what is special about this? A 7 foot firm?

Emerging from the dark of the rain forest.

This photograph and the following 5 illustrate the diversity of this beach.

Whoa, what has MB discovered?

Magnificent driftwood.

Sea animals clinging on, waiting for the next incoming tide.

Sea anemones. One has to wonder how many varieties of animals there are in the seas.

Primordial Earth?

Notice the depth of this tidal pool.

This little guy and his mate were not pleased by us humans invading their turf!

We came upon these two “creatures” hiding in their den!
